60 series (Al-Mg-Si) alloy is the most important extruded alloy. At present, more than 70% of aluminum extrusion processed materials in the world are produced using 60 series alloy. % Si, 0.35% to 1.4% Mg. Within this limit, countries have developed hundreds of alloys with different compositions. The American AA standard alloy table lists 46 different series of 60 series alloys, and the International Alloy Composition Handbook published in October 1980 lists 252 different types of 60 series alloys. After decades of practical application and screening, it has been proved that 6063, 6082, 6061, 6005 and other four alloys and their variants have occupied the dominant position of 60 series alloys (more than 80%), and they cover the tensile strength degree all alloys from 180Mpa to 360Mpa.
6063 alloy is a typical representative of Al-Mg-Si series alloys. It has particularly excellent extrudability and weldability.
The material of choice for door and window profiles. It is characterized by high plasticity and corrosion resistance under the temperature-speed conditions of pressure processing; there is no tendency to stress corrosion; its corrosion resistance does not actually decrease during welding.
